News From the Sewickley Masonic Homes

October 30,2010 at New Castle Consistory.
Masonic Village At Sewickley had six Retirement Living Residents and two Staff who were members of the one day class who became Master Masons.
The residents were Thomas Robertson,Leon Whipple, Walter Borsett, Duane Combs, John Ferguson, and Henry Shockey.
The two staff were Security Officer William Chickos and Food Service Worker Micka Ed.



Masonic Village at Sewickley.
Retirement Living Resident David P. Rihl was installed Worshipful Master of Doric Lodge No. 630 in Sewickley, Pa. on Thursday December 9, 2010.
Twenty-Five Masonic Village Brethren and Three Staff traveled to Doric Lodge to witness the installation of their fellow resident.

Masonic Village at Sewickley - "Enchanted Evening"
The William Slater, II, Master Mason's Club at the Masonic Village at Sewickley sponsored the 4th Annual "Enchanted Evening" Wednesday, January 26, 2011.
Ninety-eight ladies residing in the Star Points Personal Care and Valley Care Masonic Center attended a very special evening consisting of an elegant meal and musical entertainment.
"Victorian" was the theme this year.
Excitement had been building with the selection of eveningwear, manicures, and jewelry.
As the ladies were escorted to the dining room by the Rainbow Girls and DeMolay Boys, each lady was presented with a wrist corsage and a photo was taken.
The dining room was elegantly decorated with special lighting and various flower arrangements.
Victorian Ambiance was provided by Patti Peer. Music was provided by Mark Venneri.
Special invited guests were as follows;
    William Prazenica, CFO Masonic Homes of the Pa. Grand Lodge and his lady Kathy
    Gorden Hensel, DDGM of the 53rd Masonic District and his lady Roberta.
    Richard Fitzsimmons, DDGM of the 24th Masonic District and his lady Jeannette.
    Eric Gross Executive Director of the Masonic Village at Sewickley and his lady Brenda.
While the ladies were dining on Surf and Turf, twenty-five men from Star Points and Valley Care were enjoying their "Pizza and Beer" party in the personal care dining room sponsored by the Brethren of the Valley of New Castle.
Several helpers from the Slater Club and outside lodges helped with the games for the men.
All the ladies and men wish to extend their thanks to all contributors for a lovely and enjoyable evening.
Plans have already started for the 5th Annual Enchanted Evening to be held January 25, 2012.

"A Fishing We Will Go"
On Monday, June 20,2011, the Wm.Slater II Master Mason's Club sponsored the annual Fishing Outing for  brethren residing in the Star Points Personal Care.
Five residents along with staff, six Master Masons, and volunteer Bob Grine from Harmony Lodge enjoyed a morning of fishing and a picnic lunch at the Ambridge District Sportsmen's Club.
The weather cooperated again this year with sun and blue skies.
Pirate ball caps were awarded as prizes for the first fish caught, the largest fish, and the most bites.
A big Thank You to all who contributed to this enjoyable outing for our Masonic Members.

Wm. Slater II Master Mason's Club holds Barbecue.
 
June 15, 2011, the 7th annual "Barbecue in the Courtyard" was held at the Masonic Village at Sewickley.
A record attendance enjoyed a beautiful sunny day for this summer event.
The MVS Food Service  Staff under the direction of Pete Countouris Director of Food Service and Executive Chef Jim Bereksazi served a fabulous picnic style luncheon outdoors.
Housekeeping and Maintenance staff gave their support also.
This year, the Master Mason's Club extended an invitation to all residents in Retirement Living to join the festivities.
A number of residents from Star Points Personal Care and Valley Care Masonic Center were also invited. Many thanks to all who gave their time and talent making this another successful event for all.
